A Color Blind Artist .....Truly
Painting is Magical |
|
So it is for me to see
Green is Red
Brown is Green
Blue is Purple
Yellow is Green
Being color blind , a genetic defect of the eye, has its drawback when clothes shopping or choosing paint for a wall, but not true when I am painting on canvas or paper. Then it becomes an adventure with every stroke.. It is joyful to enter that private place of the mind where colors are seen differently by each of us.
I was born in Roanoke,Virginia during the steam engine age and have always had an interest in the creative elements.Writing, photography, and painting have afforded me many opportunities to learn and grow as an artist. I have taken painting classes from many instructors and am amazed at the "tricks of the trade"that are shared by these instructors as well as fellow artists. I am a student of Katherine Skipper in Lexington, N. C. and have memberships in the Carolina Artists Guild and the Mooresville Artist Guild.
I currently work and exhibit my art at the Rail Walk Studios and Gallery in Salisbury, N.C.. My work can also be seen in local art galleries and coffee houses.
My happiest hours are spent in my studio with a brush in hand and paint on my shirt.
